THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY - Movie

http://www.thedivingbellmovie.co.uk/

hey all...this is the link to the movie i recommend you all see. It's the english site because that seemed the most comprehensive It is worth it from any person's perspective in appreciating life and and may inspire ideas for our hospitals. I think the most evocative thing is the main character's inability to change what is going on around him (based on a true story). We need to realize that despite his condition, he is still able to see his surrounds. Sight is his key to the world, something that is imperative to architecture, or so they say. We could take this and play with it....is sight really imperative to the success of architecture?
NIGHT TEAM!!!
Yo gang....lets get a time organized for a meeting. How about we just talk on here and head in at our own leisure to play on UT3?!?! I am planning on making my room/space on Wednesday arvo from about 1pm in the labs...
Also, I am planning on buying the software but i have a Mac, so that is going to be interesting too!
What are you schedules like?? I think this is the only way to chat...we need a forum set up.

What are the "should haves" of a hospital?

No matter what the function, the first principles of any health care facility servicing people include the following programmatic needs...

Public
Entry and Reception
Restrooms
Passage to move to private realm
Trash Removal

Private
Food Storage/prep
Staff Offices
Consultation rooms/spaces
Area of patient retreat

WATCH THIS SPACE as the list evovles

OK FORGET THE "SHOULD HAVES"....

It's 6:31pm, class finished at about 2:31pm and this is how i feel...

Despite the endless amount of crits i have sat through as an architecture student, today's was the most insightful and interesting by far.

A breath of fresh air if you ask me.

A new, creative way to share ideas via a different medium with bunch of highly insightful sociologically and philosophically minded young people....this is what fifth year should be, a burst of inspiration.
The feeling is somewhat foreign, as I have never been able to see the (up till now) mundane tasks or site analysis as exciting, challenging and inspiring.
This project is real, yet the angle taken via our methodology used for research in anticipation of our hospital design is unique. It finally looks at designing in the way i want to as an architect. Its fun in that it asks us to move out of the square of shadow diagrams and drawing boards....

BRING IT ON!!!!
